Article Processing Charges (APC)
The Journal of Alcoholism, Drug Abuse and Substance Research (JADASR) stands as a pioneering open-access platform dedicated to combating the global scourge of addiction through innovative research and evidence-based solutions. As an international, peer-reviewed journal, JADASR focuses on psychoactive substances, behavioral addictions, and their multifaceted impacts-from clinical treatments and epidemiological studies to social, cultural, and historical perspectives. By publishing groundbreaking work on alcoholism, drug dependence, and substance abuse, we empower researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to address critical issues affecting physical and mental health, families, and vulnerable populations like children. Our commitment to open access ensures that vital insights on addiction prevention, treatment approaches, and best practices reach a worldwide audience without barriers, fostering a stronger scientific community and bridging the gap between research and real-world application.
Our Article Processing Charge (APC) of $1,100 is strategically designed to support the high standards of JADASR's publication process. This fee covers essential services such as rigorous peer review by leading experts from our editorial board, professional editing and formatting, and seamless online dissemination via advanced digital platforms. It also funds the long-term preservation of your research in secure digital repositories, enhancing accessibility and future reference. Authors publishing with JADASR benefit from increased visibility in addiction-focused databases, higher citation rates, and opportunities to influence global health policies and clinical practices. We welcome a variety of submissions, including editorials, original research, review articles, case reports, and perspectives, all meticulously reviewed to uphold scholarly excellence and patient safety.
To promote inclusivity and encourage diverse voices in addiction research, JADASR adheres to a comprehensive Waiver Policy. We recognize that funding availability can vary significantly, so we offer substantial waivers for deserving authors whose institutions lack financial support or for those from low-income economies. These waivers, whether partial or full, are evaluated on a case-by-case basis to promote inclusivity and encourage global contributions. Requests must be submitted to the journal before manuscript submission to ensure fair consideration. This policy underscores our commitment to accessibility, allowing talented researchers to publish without financial hurdles.
Additionally, our Withdrawal Policy ensures transparency and fairness in the publication process. Authors may withdraw their article before the plagiarism check at no cost. However, if withdrawal occurs after the plagiarism check (within 24 hours) and formatting, a fee of $189 applies. For manuscripts that have undergone peer review and are prepared for publication, the fee increases to $459. Once an article is published, the withdrawal fee is $549. These charges reflect the resources invested in the process and align with our open-access model, where fees are non-refundable upon payment to cover editorial, review, and dissemination costs.
Publishing in JADASR not only amplifies your contributions to addiction science but also positions you as a leader in developing safer, more effective interventions. With no submission fees and secure payment options like credit cards or institutional transfers, the process is straightforward.
