All manuscripts are freely accessible online, accelerating innovations in impotence research and sexual health.
Our Article Processing Charge (APC) of $1,100 is designed to support JSMIR's focus on sexual medicine excellence and global accessibility. This fee covers essential services such as expert peer review, professional editing and formatting, and seamless online dissemination through advanced digital platforms. It also includes investments in hardware, software, and long-term digital preservation in secure repositories, guaranteeing your research's accessibility for future clinical applications and sexual health studies. Authors publishing in JSMIR benefit from enhanced visibility in sexual medicine databases, increased citation potential, and opportunities to influence treatment protocols, psychological therapies, and biological interventions in sexual dysfunction. We welcome submissions of original research, reviews, short communications, and mini-reviews, all reviewed to elevate scholarly standards and community progress in sexual medicine and impotence research.
To promote equitable contributions to sexual health research, JSMIR adheres to a comprehensive Waiver Policy. We recognize that funding availability can vary significantly, so we offer substantial waivers for deserving authors whose institutions lack financial support or for those from low-income economies. These waivers, whether partial or full, are evaluated on a case-by-case basis to promote inclusivity and encourage global contributions. Requests must be submitted to the journal before manuscript submission to ensure fair consideration. This policy underscores our commitment to accessibility, allowing talented researchers to publish without financial hurdles.
Additionally, our Withdrawal Policy ensures transparency and fairness in the publication process. Authors may withdraw their article before the plagiarism check at no cost. However, if withdrawal occurs after the plagiarism check (within 24 hours) and formatting, a fee of $189 applies. For manuscripts that have undergone peer review and are prepared for publication, the fee increases to $459. Once an article is published, the withdrawal fee is $549. These charges reflect the resources invested in the process and align with our open-access model, where fees are non-refundable upon payment to cover editorial, review, and dissemination costs.
